2006 AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE

"I'm humbled by this award. We're so fortunate to be nurses--it's just the greatest job on earth. We just go about our job every day and take care of people and do our best. If that's being excellent, that's what I've done."

Gayle Ann Roberts is a certified women’s health nurse practitioner at Northeast Ohio Obstetrics/Gynecology, Inc., in Massillon, Ohio. She is also an adjunct faculty member at Malone College School of Nursing in Canton, Ohio, where she teaches health assessment, community health, mathematics and statistics, research, pathophysiology, advanced health assessment, and women’s health. Mrs. Roberts is an instructor in the undergraduate RN-to-BSN program and
the graduate Family Nurse Practitioner program. And she is well-known in southeast Ohio for informative, energetic and humorous programs on women’s health, childbirth education, parenting and health promotion.

In 2001, she received her Master of Science in Nursing from the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University. At graduation she received the Cushing-Robb Prize for outstanding academic, clinical and research achievement. She has maintained her certification as a women’s health nurse practitioner since 1980.

Most of Mrs. Roberts’ 31-year nursing career has been in community health, and women’s health has been her focus for 26 years.

The prestigious Award for Excellence from the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing recognizes Mrs. Roberts’ commitment to excellence in nursing and women’s health care through her leadership as an innovative educator, nurse practitioner, and patient advocate. Her dedication to promoting women’s health significantly improves the quality of women’s lives.
