The Future of Nursing: Human Caring for All

On the afternoon of Saturday, June 4th, CWRU Trustee Linda Burnes Bolton delivered a special Schlotfeldt Lecture to FPB nursing alumni and guests, presenting on the landmark Institute of Medicine’s 2010 report, The Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health.
Dr. Burnes Bolton, who is also vice president and chief nursing officer at Cedars-Sinai Health System and Research Institute in Los Angeles, served as vice chair of the Initiative on the Future of Nursing (which was a joint effort of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Institute of Medicine). The initiative was a two-year endeavor to identify solutions to the challenges faced by the nursing profession and to improve the quality of and transform how healthcare is delivered in the U.S.
Recently named One of the Top 25 Women in Healthcare by Modern Healthcare Magazine, Dr. Burnes Bolton was also given an Honorary Alumna Award by the FPB Alumni Association and Dean May Wykle at the end of the discussion. Watch her entire presentation below or on the FPB YouTube channel.
