Study of Resilience in Children and Adolescents; Domestic Violence Issues in Families; Grieving and Loss in Families; Childhood Obesity and Prevention/Intervention Research; School-Based Interventions for Children Ages 10-12 years, and Children with Chronic Illnesses (e.g. BPD)

Research Projects:

Primary Investigator, "Dance Pad Exercise for a Healthy Weight in Childhood," Continuation of dance pad exercise study in East Cleveland Schools for academic year 2008-2009. ($10,000). Funded in 2007 by Seed Grant from Midwest Nursing Research Society. (August 2008 start date)

Project Director, "The Water Works," Mini-grant application to Ohio Action for Healthy Kids (OAHK), Zone 3 region, ($500) for Mayfair Elementary School, East Cleveland Schools. The grant will provide water bottles for the school children and an educational program on nutritional snacks. (March 2008 submission)

Primary Investigator, "Dancing to a Healthy Weight in Childhood." Pilot study of video dance pad exercise protocol with 9-12 year old children in the Cleveland Public School District. ($4020). Funded in 2004 by Center for Research and Scholarship Pilot Grant program (CFRS), Case Western Reserve University. (completed June 2006)
