Instructions for TEC classroom 270/250/290
Equipment:
- computer with cd,
floppy, network access and open USB port
- document projector
- lcd projector
- vcr
- dvd player
- open connection for personal laptop
- open connection for video camera
- speakers

Advantages:
- No need to reserve a cart!
- Easy to use!
- Raise and lower the computer stand to adjust to
height
- Already connected to the internet
- Projection fits the ENTIRE screen
Instructions:
Note!!!!!! DUE TO OTHERS LEAVING THE EQUIPMENT ON,
YOU SHOULD PRESS THE SYSTEM OFF BUTTON ON THE KEYPAD/CONTROL PANEL BEFORE YOU
EVEN START TO USE THE EQUIPMENT. Wait a full 60 seconds for it to shut down,
then you may start with #1 and proceed. This will reset all pieces, so that the
projector can properly start up.
- On the table top keypad, hit the start button
on the screen. Wait for the equipment to start up. It will automatically
turn all pieces on.
- Choose which feature you want to use. (you may switch back and forth with ease throughout your
lecture).
- The document and PC modes will show on the
large screen and the monitor. The other modes only show on the touch pad.

- Doc: for
the document projector
- Laptop: for your personal laptop
- PC: to use the PC in the station (what you will
mostly use)
- Mac: do not use
- AUX: for the aux jacks (IE: your own video
camera, etc..)
- VCR: for the VCR
- DVD: for the DVD
- Blank Screen: to work and prepare, before
showing it on the large screen to the class
- Help: help
- System Off: to power everything down (but
computer, this stays on)
- Volume: to adjust volume
PC
- To use the station PC (recommended) it should
automatically be logged on. IF IT IS NOT, the user name is itac-client and you may leave the password section
blank…then press ok.
- The pc is equipped with Windows XP, Office,
internet, etc…
- You CANNOT access your H drive from this
computer
- If you have a USB memory key, you may use the USB
slot on the front of the PC, under the Dell panel.
- PC contains floppy and CD drives
- You are not able to install programs on the PC
- You will need to hit return on the touchpad to
switch to another item
Document Projector
- when you choose Doc, you can use the document
projector for transparencies, objects, etc..like you would the Elmo in the LRC.

- you may use the zoom features
- the focus features will focus the object/screen
- the iris feature will brighten the screen
- image will turn the image on the screen
- text will allow you to enhance the text further
- Store allows you to store up to 9 images at a time,
to eliminate swapping props if you so choose (these will be erased each
time the machine is turned off)
- Place object on the document projector
- Press store-1
- It will store the image
- Place another object on the projector
- Press store-2, etc etc…
- When you want to call up the stored image,
press the number
- To leave the stored image mode, press text
Laptop
- You may connect your laptop to the station via
the cables near the document projector
- You may connect sound, network and LCD
- You will still need to use fN-f8 (dell) to
project if there is no display
- You will need to hit return on the touchpad to
switch to another item
AUX
- You may connect your video camera to the aux
connections on the bottom right of the setup
- You will need to hit return on the touchpad to
switch to another item
VCR/DVD
- You may play tapes or DVD’s in the player, and
they function as any VCR/DVD player would
- You will need to hit return on the touchpad to
switch to another item

Blank Screen
- This feature blanks out the large screen, so
that the class does not see it projected
- This is useful when preparing lecture
- Press blank screen again to show the screen to
the class
Always remember to press system off
when leaving to turn the equipment off
(note,
the PC will not turn off, leave it on)
