CDR VS CDRW

 

 

CDR

Used to write data once. You cannot modify the data on the CD.

You can add more files if you do not finalize the CD.

You cannot delete the files on the CD.

Cheaper.

No formatting needed.

CDRW

Used like a floppy or zip. You can modify the data on the CD. (IF Formatted)

You can add/delete/change files on the CD.

Will read in all CDROMs but may not write on other CDRW drives of different speed.

More expensive.

You must format the disk to use it.
