CDRW

CDRW means that you can FORMAT the CD, and then use it like a floppy, zip
or other removable storage.

How to create a CDRW

NEW CDRW?

First, you need to format the CD (but only the first time!)
We do not recommend purchasing already formatted CDRW's as they may not
be formatted for your drive speed.

1.  Open Roxio EZ CD Creator.

2.  Choose make a data cd , then directCD.

3. You will choose format cd to create a formatted cd, to drag/drop or save to.

4.  You will give the CD a label and choose between Quick or Full format.  (we recommend full format for the first time
format of a new CDRW)

5. Now click start format!   It can take a while, so feel free to do other work.

6. When it is finished, you can now save to the CD like you would a floppy or zip.

NOTE:  This disk will be readable in other drives. To test that, after you save something to it, place it in your DVD ROM drive, and
attempt to read the files.

NOTE:  You will not be able to save to the disk in other CD Drives UNLESS: they are CDRW drives of the SAME SPEED.
(so do not be surprised if you can save to the CD at work, but not on your home CDRW drive, or vice versa. Drive speeds change all of the time,
and a CDRW formatted at one speed may not allow you to SAVE to it on a drive of another.

NOTE: You only need to format each CDRW once for use.  YOU CAN, however, format again to erase all of the data and start fresh (or just use
erase CD function on the DirectCD toolbox).

OTHER OPTIONS
You can play around with the toolbox utilities on the right side of the DirectCD window (Utilities, erase CD, options....). They each have unique, easy to understand, functions.
