How to use the slide maker in 227
Copy your PowerPoint file into the My Documents folder of this computer. Open your PowerPoint presentation, click File then click Page Setup and make sure the screen appears as follows then click OK:
Click File then click Print. Make sure the Polaroid ProPalette 7000 is selected in the Printer name box (if is not selected use the down arrow, to select it). Also make sure the Print to file box is checked. See the following:
Click on the Properties button next to the Printer Name. In the Poloraid Palette Document Properties box make sure that in the Paper Size that PowerPoint35mm is selected (if it does not appear, use the arrow down to select it.). Make sure the screen looks as follows then click OK:
On the Print box, click OK to print the slides. The Print to File box will appear in which you will name the file in which the slides will be stored. The file can be named the same as the presentation or given a different name. Enter a name and click the Save button. Please save the file in the My Documents directory. The file will be given an extension of .prn. Once the slides have been printed to file, then click on RasterPlus by double-clicking the RasterPlus icon on the desktop. Once in the RasterPlus Software the screen should appear as follows:
If it does not appear like above, then click on Printer Menu and click on New. On the next screen, make sure Polaroid ProPalette 7000 is selected (highlighted) and click OK.
Click on the Printer Menu and then click Add Jobs or click on the icon that has the green plus sign. Select the file that you previously named with the .prn extension. The file will be loaded in the Hold area.
From Hold area you can preview slides before printing them to make sure that the all of the information fits on all of the slides. If you need to make adjustments you will have to make them in PowerPoint and repeat the steps noted above. To preview the slides, make sure the presentation is selected (highlighted) in the Hold area and then click on the Printer Menu and click on Preview Selected Jobs. The presentation will then be loaded slide-by-slide and scanned through pretty quickly. Once all the pages have been shown, you can then navigate through the slides using the navigation arrows at the below the slides.
After you previewed slides for accuracy and any changes have been made, the slides are ready to be created. The film must be loaded into the camera. Before loading film, make sure that the film recorder is turned ON and the panel reads Ready. (The power switch is in the front in the bottom left hand corner of the unit. Push the button up to turn it ON.) Once the recorder is ON and Ready, pull down the door on the front of the film recorder. To open the camera, push down on the little switch on the camera door. Load the film and close the door. As long as the film is loaded properly, the recorder will advance and load the film. The panel then read Ready and indicated how many slides are available.
Once the film is loaded, the slides are ready to be printed. Before printing, please check the properties to indicate the type of film being used, by clicking on the Edit Menu then clicking on Default Queue Properties. Then click on Advanced Device and select the proper Film type, by using the down arrow. (Elite Chrome by Kodak is an option.) Then click OK.
To print slides, make sure the presentation you would like to print is selected (highlighted), then click Printer and click Print Selected Job. The job will be moved to the Print area and the slides will begin printing to the recorder. Once the slides have all been printed. The camera will automatically rewind to the roll, if all of the film is used. Otherwise, if there is still film on the roll, you can rewind the film by pressing the button with the two upward arrows on the recorder, once. A message Rewind? will appear, press the down arrow and the film will be rewound. Then press the list button on the recorder, to exit. The film may then be removed and taken to be processed. The job will be placed in the Archive Pane. At that point you may either leave it there or delete it (by selecting and clicking Edit Menu and click Clear) and exit the program.
When finished exit RasterPlus, by clicking Printer Menu and clicking Exit.
Exit any other programs. The files you copied may be deleted from the My Documents folder or left there. Once you are finished using the computer, please Log Off, by pressing Ctrl Alt Del and clicking Log Off. Then the next person, can log in and use the equipment.
