The easiest way to check your email here at Case is by using the Webmail client.
Similar to other webmail clients, such as Yahoo or Hotmail, you are able to log into the mail system from any computer, world wide, that is connected to the internet. All you need to do is open your browser, type: mail.case.edu into the address bar, hit Enter, and you are on your way!
Also similar to Yahoo or Hotmail, you have a limited amount of storage space on the Case mail servers. Case provides each active user with 100mb of storage space. For those that receive many attachments, it is recommended to save large attachments to your computer, and remove them from the server. Users are able to see the amount of free space at any time by logging into their Webmail, and the server will automatically send an 80% quota notification when you are close to capacity.
Using Webmail is simple and convenient. There are even ways to personalize your mail, such as signatures, emptying trash on logout, vacation messages, etc, by choosing "Options" once you log in.
You may also create folders and filters within the Case Webmail system. For more information on how to use Webmail, and instructions on navigation and settings, please refer to the Case Webmail tutorial.
NOTE: With the increase in the use of popup blockers and XP Service Pack 2, it may be necessary to hold the override key when composing or replying to mail using Webmail. Usually, this is the CTRL key.
To compose or reply to a message when you have a popup blocker, please hold the CTRL key down while pressing compose or reply. This will allow the popup to appear. |
