Step-by-Step Registration
Updated 6/3/11
Your Fall 2011 semester curriculum includes courses with didactic, a seminar, two labs, and two types of clinical practice (hospital and community based). This may seem like a complex schedule, but it is typical for any pre-licensure nursing program.
We hope these step-by-step instructions are helpful. But, if you have questions, we are here to assist you! Contact your advisor (see your letter), the FPB Registrar, or the Program Director for questions or assistance.
Mandatory Orientation: August 25 and 26
Start of Classes: August 29 (see the Newly Admitted Graduate Entry program homepage and checklist)
1. Apply for Financial Aid no later than July 1.
-
See information on this website and FPB Financial Aid from Ms. Dedra Hanna-Adams, Financial Aid Director.
-
For a Memorandum of Assistance (MOA) form, contact Ms. Hanna-Adams.
2. Submit your letter of acceptance.
Send your letter accepting the offer of admission, other required forms and deposit to Ms. Donna Hassik in the FPB Student Services Office by July 1, 2011.
3. Check your regular mail.
You will then receive a letter in the regular mail from the Registrar’s office with detailed information on how to activate your network ID & CWRU email and begin the registration process.
4. Contact your advisor.
-
Academic advising is a key part of each student’s educational experience at CWRU and the FPB School of Nursing.
-
Meet with your advisor each semester before registration to discuss your progress in the program, your curriculum plan and nursing practice, and other related topics. In person meetings are preferred.
-
In person meetings are preferred; however, in some cases advising may be done by phone or email.
-
Your advisor’s name is in your letter of admission or you can contact Anne Watson.
-
NOTE: Some faculty do not work during the summer. If you don’t hear from your advisor, contact Dr. Lindell to assist you with advising and registration for fall semester.
-
If Dr. Lindell does your summer advising, arrange to meet with your advisor as soon as feasible after mid-August.
-
Once you have completed advising, your advisor will release the advising hold on your registration in the Student Information (SIS) System.
5. What courses do I take each semester?
See the Pre-Licensure Graduate Entry Plan of Study.
Check the CWRU searchable schedule or access the schedule of classes in SIS from the main Student Center page. Click on “Search for Classes” green button in the top right corner.
-
NOTE: Some of the courses are listed multiple times. This is due to their atypical schedule. Register for each course just one time!
6. The SIS (Student Information System)
The SIS is your portal to
-
The Searchable Schedule of classes
-
Registration

Your transcript
-
Your personal information (make sure it is correct and use this site to update as needed)

7. Access the SIS to register for your courses:
-
The Student Information System (SIS) is accessed via the CWRU Registrar or FPB Registrar's homepage.
-
Follow the instructions on the letter from the Registrar and the SIS System.
-
NOTE: The SIS system may say it cannot register you for all of your courses. This is due to the complexity of our schedule and pre/co reqs. Register for all courses you can and then send an email to the FPB Registrar to request assistance with remaining courses (provide a list).
