Welcome MSN Students

Along with the information you should be provided on parking, Case IDs, etc., there are a few additional items that you need to pay attention to as you proceed in the program (see below). If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Carol Savrin.

CPR

All students must maintain current CPR certification while enrolled in the clinical courses.  Proof of this must be presented to the department assistant.

Immunizations

Before you proceed in clinical you must provide proof of immunization status. You are required to have proof of:

  • MMR or positive titer
  • Varicella or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B or positive titer
  • Polio or positive titer
  • Negative PPD within the past year (or negative chest x-ray if unable to have PPD)

Documentation of all of the above must be provided to the Department Assistant prior to beginning clinicals.

Fingerprinting

We need to have a copy of your official report from BCI regarding criminal background check (fingerprinting). Fingerprinting can be arranged at University Protective Services. You need to make the arrangements on an individual basis.

  • Daniel Schemmel, University Investigator: 216-368-5993
  • Electronic OHIO BCI printing fee is $30. All inclusive.
  • Electronic FBI printing fee is $35. All inclusive.

To help you complete the fingerprint process quickly, please bring your university ID, any documentation requesting fingerprinting, and a drivers' license or state-issued ID.

Fingerprinting can also be arranged through National Background Check Incorporated (877-932-2435).

Cost for Ohio is $35; for national, $55.
