Five Bolton School Faculty Receive Awards for Nursing Excellence

The Bolton School is proud to announce that five of its faculty were honored in November 2005 with awards from the American Academy of Nursing and Sigma Theta Tau International's Honor Society of Nursing.

Associate Professor of Nursing Carol M. Musil, RN, PhD, FAAN was formally inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing at the AAN’s 32nd Annual Meeting and Conference on November 12 in Scottsdale, Arizona. This award acknowledges Dr. Musil’s outstanding contributions to nursing and health care, advances that will have a strong and lasting influence on nursing practice and health policy nationwide.

At Sigma Theta Tau International’s 38th Biennial Convention, held in Indianapolis on November 12-16, four FPB faculty received 2005 International Awards for Nursing Excellence, sponsored by STTI’s Honor Society of Nursing. Honoring nurses from around the world who demonstrate professional excellence in their field, the winners were:

 
Joyce J. Fitzpatrick, RN, PhD, MBA, Elizabeth Brooks Ford Professor of Nursing: The Mary Tolle Wright Award for Excellence in Leadership
 
Gene C. Anderson, RN, PhD, FAAN, Emeritus Professor of Nursing: The Audrey Hepburn Award for Contributions to the Health and Welfare of Children
 
Barbara J. Daly, RN, PhD, FAAN, Associate Professor of Nursing and Clinical Ethics Director at University Hospitals of Cleveland: The Daniel J. Pesut Spirit of Renewal Award
 
Judith A. Maloni, RN, PhD, FAAN, Associate Professor to the Arline H. & Curtis Garvin Professorship in Nursing Excellence: The Clinical Scholarship Award
