The American Nurses Association (ANA) welcomes Joyce J. Fitzpatrick, PhD, MBA, RN, FAAN, as the new chair of the American Nurses Foundation (ANF) board of trustees, effective Oct. 3. Fitzpatrick is a member of the Ohio Nurses Association, the Elizabeth Brooks Ford Professor of Nursing at the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and an adjunct professor in the Department of Geriatrics at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York.
ANF is ANA’s philanthropic arm, and has helped fund research for many beginning and experienced nurse researchers throughout the years. Fitzpatrick comes to ANF at a time of change for the organization, as it moves forward with a plan to revamp its mission and broaden its philanthropic work, beginning in 2012.
“We are thrilled to bring on board such a proven thought leader in nursing,” said ANA President Karen Daley, PhD, MPH, RN, FAAN.
