Nurse Practitioner-PICU – Weekender

The Department of Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery at Cleveland Clinic is currently recruiting an Experienced Nurse Practitioner to work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. The successful applicant will work alongside two Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgeons in caring for both Pediatric CT and Adult Congenital Heart patients. Acute Care Certification is required. This is a weekender position: 7:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Nurse Practitioner – Pediatric Hematology/Oncology - Fulltime

The Department of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join their team. Pediatric experience is preferred. Pediatric Hematology/oncology and experience with chemotherapy is preferred. The successful applicant will perform LP's, bone marrow aspirates and biopsies. CPON certification is preferred.

The Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist for the Taussig Cancer Institute Cancer Answer Line provides clinical direction for new patients & caregivers. Responsible for telephone triage & follow up calls from patients, caregivers, physicians, & referral sources; quality care & customer satisfaction related to new patient scheduling, research, & education in the McLoraine Resource Center; maintains and updates content of extensive chemotherapy literature database.

Job Responsibilities: Provides advanced direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. Serves as an expert consultant for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development. Contributes to defining, directing and evaluating the nursing care and functions of clinical staff. Manages clinical research projects in support of evidence-based practice and disseminates findings. Develops, implements and evaluates educational plans/programs and utilizes methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals. Other duties as assigned.

Education: Master's Degree in Nursing.

Experience: Two years clinical nursing experience and previous oncology experience are required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure as an RN, BLS Healthcare Provider. Certification in specialty, if available, preferred. "Certificate to Prescribe" is preferred.

Develops and implements plan of care in collaboration with the physician, patient and significant others. Manages health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources. May perform diagnostic or therapeutic interventions consistent with certification, law and Cleveland Clinic privileges. Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources. Provides care in the context of promoting age and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared decision-making and the right to self-determination. Other duties as assigned.

Education: Master's Degree in Nursing required; Doctoral Degree preferred.

Experience: Two years of current clinical experience in clinical nursing.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Licensed as RN in State of Ohio, national certification as nurse practitioner, current certificate of authority by Ohio Board of Nursing, certificate to prescribe preferred. BLS Healthcare Provider.
