Mark Mahler, BSN Student

Expected Year of Graduation: 2011

Hometown: Marion, Ohio

Came to FPB because...
I decided to enroll in classes at FPB because the nursing program here is one of the most accredited nursing programs in the U.S. and the best in Ohio. I wanted to get a great education.

My most unique FPB experience:
A patient once told me that he hoped to see me every Tuesday until he left the hospital.

The first word that comes to my mind when I think of:
FPB... Advanced
Nursing... Healer
Cleveland... Big
Case Western Reserve University Studious
Clinicals... Hands-on

The best nursing class at FPB I've taken so far:
The best nursing class I've had here so far has been Nursing 111, because the labs are presented in a low-pressure learning environment that allows you to learn on an individual basis. Also, the clinical experiences make you feel like you are getting ready for your career within your first year of school.

The best thing about being an FPB student:
The best thing about being an FPB person is that everyone is always so friendly and willing to help. It is like you have a safety net behind you at all times.

If I could...
...travel anywhere in the world, I would go to: Venice, to ride in the gondolas
...eat dinner with any one person, living or deceased, real or fictional, I would choose: Leonardo da Vinci
...live in any era throughout history, I would pick: The 60's and 70's
...invent anything, I would create: A pill to read people's minds

My plans after graduation:
After graduation I would like to be a traveling nurse for a while and gain critical care experience. This critical care experience would hopefully help me gain a spot in the nurse anesthetist program here at Case Western Reserve.
