Michael Ruszala, MSN Student (Flight Acute Care Nurse Practitioner)

Expected Year of Graduation: 2008

Hometown: Detroit, Michigan

Came to FPB because...
I was originally drawn into the field of nursing after seeing a team of flight nurses take care of an injured family after a large accident. I was excited to find out that Case is the only school that offers an advanced practice nursing degree in flight nursing. It really wasn't that hard of a choice to make the move from Detroit to Cleveland to invest in a quality education.

Most unique FPB experience:
The faculty and staff have both gone out of their way to make me feel comfortable and excited to make Cleveland my new home.

Best nursing class at FPB so far:
Physiology, because the professors are very professional and incredibly smart. They are true nurses to look up to and esteem to one day be like.

The first word that comes to mind when I think of:
Cleveland: Downtown
Case Western Reserve University: Blue
Nursing: Limitless
FPB: Teaching
Campus life: Busy

Best thing about being an FPB student:
One of the best things is the large number of doors that are opened for you when you become a FPB student.  The local hospitals are welcoming, the teachers are receptive, and the school as a whole carries with it years of providing a great education.

Plans after graduation:
I hope to work as an acute care nurse practitioner as part of a air medical transport team.
