Purpose |
The Administrative Core under the direction of Dr. Shirley Moore provides the operational and financial oversight of the SMART Center and develops mechanisms to facilitate the interaction among the Cores and other faculty and centers within and outside the university. The Administrative Core oversees the Executive Committee and the External Advisory Committee. It provides strategic administrative oversight of the SMART Center, the three other Cores (Methods & Statistics, Scholarship & Mentoring, and Dissemination & Translation) and SMART Center-sponsored studies. |
Evaluation |
The administrative core contains an Evaluation component under the direction of Karen Harlow-Rosentraub, PhD. Dr. Harlow-Rosentraub directs process and outcome evaluation on the activities of the SMART Center. |
External Advisory Board |
The SMART Center has the resources of an External Advisory Board that meets annually to review the research and dissemination programs of the SMART Center. The External Advisory Committee is comprised of scientists with research related to self-management research
and two community representatives who potentially would be recipients of the SMART Center dissemination activities. To insure a wide perspective on the activities of the SMART Center, the members come from several disciplines frequently associated with the provision of self-management strategies, including nursing, medicine, and social work. |
