Students enrolled in the BSN and RN-BSN programs have a variety of federal and state student aid programs. A student’s financial aid award offer may include scholarships (see below), grants, loans, and student employment.

In determining financial aid for these undergraduate programs, the University includes tuition, fees, and standard living allowances such as room and board, books and supplies, travel, and miscellaneous or personal expenses. In order to receive financial aid, undergraduate students must:

  1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  2. Be enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours)
  3. Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  4. Complete the Case Financial Aid Application
  5. Complete all supporting documentation as requested, i.e. income tax forms, etc.

In addition to the undergraduate scholarships described below, detailed descriptions of financial aid programs can be found at the University's Financial Aid site.

The Bolton Scholarship

The Bolton Scholarship is a generous award to assist undergraduate students seeking a BSN to meet the cost of tuition for the FPB School of Nursing. Individual awards may be as much as $12,000 per year for a maximum of four (4) years for the BSN program, and three (3) years for the RN-BSN program. We recommend that all students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to receive formal notice of the Bolton Scholarship. This scholarship is not need-based. Scholarships in addition to the Bolton Scholarship may be awarded to those students who demonstrate extraordinary merit and/or exceptional need.

Case Merit Scholarships

Case Western Reserve University offers several full and partial-tuition merit-based scholarships. These scholarships are renewable for up to four (4) years. We strongly recommend that undergraduates that wish to be considered for a Case Merit Scholarship apply for admission by November 15th, but no later than January 15th. They must also submit SAT I or ACT scores and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by February 1st. Click here for information on University scholarships.
