A Legacy of Philanthropy…
In 1923, Frances Payne Bolton, the first woman from Ohio to serve in the United States Congress, established a $1.5 million endowment in memory of her mother, Mary Payne Bingham, for the establishment of a University School of Nursing. Now bearing the name of its generous benefactor, the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing is a lasting legacy to a woman who cared deeply about giving back through philanthropy and the field of nursing.
