THE ART OF NURSING

CELEBRATING NURSING THROUGH THE ARTS

To celebrate the profession of nursing, the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing and The Payne Fund are supporting a collection of photography by Nannette Bedway. Nannette has documented presidential campaigns, celebrities, musicians, and dancers, and her signature black and white portraits show a sensitivity that is captivating and exquisite.

This body of work, The Art of Nursing, showcases the cultural diversity, leadership, creativity, scholarship, and specialty areas that represent the many facets of nursing and the impact that the Bolton School of Nursing is making in research, education, and the community. The collection encompasses the human lifespan, the unique qualities nurses embody, and the many career paths nurses pursue from a conceptual and artistic perspective.

This website presents the first series of these photographs, which has also been expanded into a larger collection called The Art and Soul of Nursing to coincide with the announcement of the new May L. Wykle Professorship in June 2007. All photographs are now featured in a permanent exhibit on the ground floor of the Bolton School of Nursing.
