How to Scan Documents into PDF (recommended)
Note, you cannot edit the text in PDF files.
- You may place the document face down on the scanner glass –or- place the document(s) face up in the Auto Document Feeder
- Open Adobe Acrobat
- Choose “Create PDF” and “from scanner” at the top, or go to File/Create PDF/From Scanner
- In the scanner drop down menu, choose the Microtek scanner

- For the “scan” menu, leave on “front sides”
- Click on the Scan button, this will open the ScanWizard 5
- On the right hand side, click on the “Original” button
- Choose Text Document
- Click on “Scan” at the top
- This will now pull all pages you are scanning into the feeder and scan them to Acrobat.
- Note, using more than one page, creates a single “multi-page” pdf file. If you want separate files, only put one page into the feeder
- If you are using the glass, it will prompt you for the next page
- When it is through with all of the pages, you will see the next page box
- If you are done, press done
- It will then present your document in Adobe. Go to File/Save as and save your document to your jump drive, disk, network drive, etc…Make sure to give it a title!
Tips
- on the Adobe menu, where you choose your scanner, you may also adjust the settings under “image settings”
- on the ScanWizard 5 window, you may adjust the settings to the right, such as color, and so on
