How to Scan Documents into PDF (recommended)
Note, you cannot edit the text in PDF files.

  1. You may place the document face down on the scanner glass –or- place the document(s) face up in the Auto Document Feeder
  2. Open Adobe Acrobat
  3. Choose “Create PDF” and “from scanner” at the top, or go to File/Create PDF/From Scanner
  4. In the scanner drop down menu, choose the Microtek scanner

  5.

  6. For the “scan” menu, leave on “front sides”
  7. Click on the Scan button, this will open the ScanWizard 5
  8. On the right hand side, click on the “Original” button
    1. Choose Text Document
  9. Click on “Scan” at the top
  10. This will now pull all pages you are scanning into the feeder and scan them to Acrobat.
    1. Note, using more than one page, creates a single “multi-page” pdf file. If you want separate files, only put one page into the feeder
    2. If you are using the glass, it will prompt you for the next page
  11. When it is through with all of the pages, you will see the next page box

  12. If you are done, press done
  13. It will then present your document in Adobe. Go to File/Save as and save your document to your jump drive, disk, network drive, etc…Make sure to give it a title!
