How to Scan Photos
- Open the scanner top by lifting from the front
- Place the photo, face down, towards the back of the scanner
- Close the scanner top
- Double click on the “ScanWizard 5” icon
- Press the “Preview” button for a preview scan
- After it is complete, you will be able to crop the scan area to fit the photo, or a portion of the photo, by dragging the dotted line to the size and area that you want
- Once you position to the size that you would like, you may use the buttons to the right to modify things such as color adjustment, output size etc…
- When you are ready for the scan, click on the “Scan To” button at the top
- You will now be asked what format to scan it into (for photos, choose JPG) and where to save it to.
- It is best to save it to YOUR jump drive, or network share
- If you do not have your media with you, you may save it to “My Documents” or the Microtek ScanWizard 5 Images folder. Be sure to delete them when you transfer them to your media, as anyone will have access to the files.
- MAKE SURE to give your file a name!
- Click Save
- It will now be in the folder you chose to save it to. You may close the ScanWizard 5 window, or, place another photo in the scanner, and hit “PREVIEW” to start again.
TIPS
- in step #9, if you want to go straight into a photo editor to crop, rotate, edit the photo, you can choose for the photo to go into Adobe Photoshop Elements directly
- at the bottom of the screen, you will find a check box and pull down menu to “Send image to application”
- choose Photoshop Elements
