At the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing (FPB), clinical practice experiences start the very first semester of freshman year. Embarking on an educational journey at FPB is an exciting experience, with much to anticipate and prepare!
During summer orientations for Case Western Reserve University, nursing majors will attend a special session entitled Healthcare Agency Requirements to help them meet requirements for entering clinical practice. The health care agencies with which FPB partners require all students to provide an acceptable background check from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal identification (BCI&I) and FBI by fingerprint method. Students will need to bring a picture ID to this session; students under 18 years of age will additionally need a completed parental note of permission.
NOTE: Please continue to check this important website for updates, which will continue to be posted until the early weeks of summer 2011.
This checklist is intended to serve as a reference to the tasks you need to complete as you get ready to begin your experience as a BSN student at FPB.
Agenda will be posted in early summer.
New BSN students are expected to move into their dormitories on August 21, 2011 so they can be settled for Prepare to Care. Because of Prepare to Care, your move-in is a few days earlier than the date assigned to other Case freshmen.
Please disregard all future information you will receive about an August 24 move-in, which is for non-nursing freshmen.
Note: Access to the New Student Checklist is protected. Click here to go to the Orientation 2011 website.
Entry into student clinical practice is dependent on completion and verification of all requirements.
