Purpose
The goal of the Dissemination and Translation Core is to develop, implement, and evaluate activities to disseminate and translate research results in a timely fashion to stakeholders in the scientific, clinical, and policy communities. Led by Dr. Katherine Jones, the specific target groups for SMART Center dissemination and translation activities are determined by the level and strength of evidence that has been generated by completed, core and pilot studies.
Activities
-
Provide support services to SMART center investigators to prepare and assist them to disseminate study results to key stakeholder groups, including other nurse scientists, health care providers, policymakers, and community agencies.
-
Provide formal and informal educational programs that focus on specific topics relevant to the SMART center.
-
Coordinate dissemination and translation programs with other School of Nursing Centers of Excellence (Hirsh Institute for Evidence-Based Nursing Practice, Center for Research and Scholarship, University Center on Aging and Health) and SMART Center Cores.
-
Explore the applicability and feasibility of translating specific study findings into practice and policy settings.
